How a Prashna chart works
The chart is cast for the question, not for you
A birth chart is a fixed document: it describes the moment you arrived and never changes. Prashna throws that away. The chart is cast for the exact moment the question is put, and it is interpreted as an answer to that question rather than as a description of a life. The house and the graha that hold the significator of the question are identified, and the reading is taken from the relationship between them.
That single design choice determines what Prashna can and cannot do. Because the chart only exists for the moment of asking, it can carry a question with a definite shape. It can carry a question with an open shape only badly, which is why a well-framed Prashna question is specific, and usually binary.
In practice that means questions like whether an offer is the right one, whether a figure is correct, whether someone will make contact within a stated period, and which of a small number of named options to take. It does not mean what to do about a career, whether a marriage will work, or when a child will arrive. For any of those, ask for a birth chart reading instead and I will tell you so.
